ADHD Assessments
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental condition that is experienced by approximately 5–8% of children and 3–5% of adults in Australia. Without appropriate identification and management, ADHD can result in significant, life-long functional impairments. However, there are a range of pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments that, for many people, can reduce symptoms, improve functioning, and support better outcomes.
From 23 February 2026, Dr Deb will be providing structured ADHD assessment and ongoing management for children, adolescents, and adults, in accordance with current Australian clinical guidelines.
ADHD assessment
Assessment for ADHD involves a comprehensive clinical evaluation and cannot be completed in a single appointment. The assessment process usually takes 3–4 extended consultations, depending on clinical complexity and the availability of supporting information.
Assessment typically includes:
A detailed developmental, educational, occupational, and mental health history
Use of validated screening and assessment tools
Consideration of alternative or co-existing conditions
Collateral information where appropriate (e.g. parents, carers, school, or workplace reports)
A diagnosis of ADHD is not guaranteed and is made only where diagnostic criteria are met following full assessment.
ADHD assessments would be conducted on Mondays only.
ADHD management
Where ADHD has been diagnosed, Dr Deb provides ongoing management and monitoring, which may include:
Non-pharmacological strategies such as psychoeducation, behavioural approaches, and lifestyle interventions
Medication management, where clinically appropriate
Regular review of treatment response, side effects, and overall functioning
Please note that prescription of stimulant medication is not guaranteed and depends on clinical assessment, individual circumstances, and regulatory requirements.
Important information
ADHD assessments usually require 3–4 longer appointments
A diagnosis of ADHD and/or prescription of stimulant medication cannot be guaranteed
“Fast-track” or single-visit ADHD diagnoses are not offered
Fees
ADHD assessment and management require longer consultations and would involve out-of-pocket costs. Medicare rebates apply where eligible. Please contact reception for current fees and appointment availability.
